Capsules and tablets of the drug are taken in the same dosage, depending on the person's age. Recommended for use before meals.
For non-specific prophylaxis in contact with a patient with influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (taken once a day for 10-15 days):
adults and children over 12 years old - 200 mg per day,
children 6-12 years old - 100 mg per day,
children 3-6 years old - 50 mg per day.
For prevention during acute respiratory viral infections (1 dose 2 times a week for 3 weeks):
children 3-6 years old - 50 mg;
6-12 years old - according to the same scheme, but 100 mg;
adults and children over 12 years of age - 200 mg.
For the prevention of severe acute respiratory syndrome dosage Arbidol according to the instructions for use:
adults and children over 12 years old - 200 mg of the drug 1 time per day for 12-14 days,
children 6-12 years old - 100 mg 1 time per day (before meals) for 12-14 days.
For the prevention of postoperative infectious complications, the drug is prescribed two days before surgery, as well as on the second and fifth days after 1 dose:
children 3-6 years old - 50 mg;
6-12 years - 100 mg;
12 years and older - 200 mg.
For the treatment of influenza and SARS without complications, the dose of Arbidol according to the instructions:
children 3-6 years old - 50 mg 4 times a day (every 6 hours). The course of treatment is 5 days.
6-12 years - 100 mg 4 times a day (every 6 hours).
12 years and older - 200 mg 4 times a day (every 6 hours).
For the treatment of complicated forms of influenza and SARS:
children 3-6 years old - 50 mg 4 times a day (every 6 hours) for 5 days, then 50 mg \ 1 time per week for 4 weeks.
6-12 years old - according to the same scheme, but 100 mg 4 times a day (every 6 hours), then 100 mg 1 time per week for 4 weeks.
12 years and older - 200 mg Arbidol 4 times a day (every 6 hours) for 5 days, then 200 mg 1 time per week for 4 weeks.
For the treatment of severe acute respiratory syndrome, adults and children over 12 years of age are shown 200 mg of the drug 2 times a day for 8-10 days.
As part of the complex treatment of acute intestinal infections of rotavirus origin, the instruction recommends standard dosages:
children over 12 years old - 200 mg Arbidol \ 4 times a day (every 6 hours) for 5 days,
children 6-12 years old - 100 mg \ 4 times a day (every 6 hours) for 5 days,
children 3-6 years old - 50 mg \ 4 times a day (every 6 hours) for 5 days.
In order to treat SARS, adult patients and adolescents after 12 years of age are prescribed 200 mg of the drug twice a day, therapy lasts 8-10 days.
The instruction warns of the possibility of developing the following side effects when prescribing Arbidol:
allergic reactions in the form of rashes or urticaria.
Arbidol is contraindicated in the following cases:
with sensitivity to the components of the drug;
child's age is less than 3 years.
