What are Tendon Injuries?

Tendon injuries are a condition in which tendons lose their normal structure and function due to trauma or overuse.

Classification:

  • Traumatic injuries;
  • Injuries due to overuse;
  • Congenital anomalies of tendons.

Symptoms:

Pain, swelling, limited mobility, creaking during movement, change in the shape of the tendon.

Causes:

Trauma, excessive load, developmental abnormalities.

Diagnosis:

Clinical examination, ultrasound, MRI.

Treatment:

Rest, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, surgical intervention if necessary.

Prevention:

Reasonable physical activity, proper exercise technique, use of protective equipment.
