The antiseptic effect of Strepsils is provided by its combined composition, including a benzene derivative (2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol) and phenol (amylmethacresol). A decrease in the intensity of sore throat occurs 5 minutes after the start of resorption of the tablet. In addition, a softening effect on the mucous membrane of the mouth and a decrease in irritation in the throat (including swallowing and speech) are felt. The duration of the analgesic effect is up to 120 minutes, a pronounced analgesic effect occurs after three days of treatment.

Contraindications

    glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, fructose intolerance, deficiency of sucrose or isomaltase (with the exception of sugar-free lemon-flavored tablets);

    hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
