What is Tendonitis?

Description of the disease

Tendonitis is an inflammation of the tendon or tendon apparatus, which usually occurs as a result of overuse or injury. It can occur in athletes as well as in people leading a sedentary lifestyle.

Diagnosis

The diagnosis of tendonitis includes a doctor's consultation, X-ray and ultrasound of the tendons.

Treatment

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, physiotherapy, massage, therapeutic exercises, and sometimes surgical intervention may be used to treat tendonitis.

  • Gradual increase of loads
  • Warm-up before exercising
  • Using the correct technique for exercises
