Leg Contusion

Description of the disease:

A leg contusion is an injury caused by mechanical impact on the tissues of the limb. As a result of a blow or compression, the tissues may be damaged, causing pain and swelling.

Classification:

  • Closed contusion (without skin damage)
  • Open contusion (with skin damage)
  • Contusion of muscles / bones / joints

Symptoms:

Pain, swelling, bruising, possible impairment of limb function.

Causes:

Blow, fall, compression, sports injuries.

Diagnosis:

Doctor's examination, X-ray, ultrasound.

Treatment:

Rest, cold, limb elevation, bandaging, use of anti-inflammatory drugs.
